1 Discover AVANTI Flow

Welcome to AVANTI Flow, a connected audio system.

This chapter explains how to get your new radio up and running, outlines the controls and explains

some phrases used in this manual.

1.1 Here’s what you’ll need

To listen to online audio content (internet radio, listen again programmes, podcasts and PURE

sounds) and stream your music collection you’ll need the following:

A broadband internet connection (minimum speed 0.5 MB). If you already surf the web at

home, then your internet connection is active and working correctly.

A wireless router, also called a wireless access point.

If your network is secured, you’ll need the WEP, WPA or WPA2 key or password for your

network (for help see ‘What is a WEP key?’).

A registration code from the Lounge, PURE Digital’s online gateway to connected audio.

To get a registration code, visit www.thelounge.com and click on ‘Connect my PURE radio’

to register your details and receive a registration code by e-mail. You’ll be asked to enter this

code into your AVANTI Flow as part of the setup process.

1.2 Switching on AVANTI Flow for the ﬁrst time

1 Extend the aerial fully. You need to extend the aerial when listening to DAB and FM, but it’s not

required when listening to online audio content or streaming your music ﬁles.

2 Insert the connector of the supplied mains lead into the AC power input on the rear of the radio.

4 Plug the mains plug into the mains supply, then switch on your radio using the switch located

above the AC Power input on the rear of the radio

5 The

AVANTI Flow screen is displayed for a short period.

6 The Select time zone region screen is displayed. Use the + and - keys on your radio to highlight

your region, then press select to enter it. The next screen asks you to select time zone location,

use the same process to select the location closest to you.

7 The

Source screen is displayed, which shows the six audio sources you can listen to on

AVANTI Flow. Each audio source is explained in a separate chapter of this manual: 2 Listening

to DAB radio; 3 Listening to internet radio and more; 4 Listening to Media player; 5 Docking and

listening to your iPod; 6 Listening to FM radio; and 7 Listening to an Auxiliary device.

8 To get started, press the Select button to select

‘DAB radio’ and read the rest of this chapter

for an overview of how to operate the product.
